Many years of Indian operations

Radiola has been supporting the upgrade of military airfields throughout India since 2014. Working as a subcontractor to TATA Advanced systems Radiola conducts the commissioning flight inspection as the final step in the upgrade process.

To date more than 40 airfields have been commissioned.

The contract for this work was awarded by the TATA Power Company of India through its Strategic Electronics Division (TATA Power SED now known as TATA Advanced Systems), says Radiola Aerospace Managing Director, Brent Albiston.

TATA holds a prime contract with the Indian Ministry of Defence to modernize facilities, including the installation of aircraft landing systems and other navigation aids, at airfields operated by the Indian Air Force.

“That we were awarded this contract against intense international competition is testament to the Company’s world-wide reputation as a professional supplier of flight inspection services” says Mr Albiston.

Radiola Aerospace staff based in New Zealand, along with long-time aircraft partner Wings over Asia, from Singapore, utilise the specially modified Diamond 62 aircraft for the missions.

Radiola continues to provide flight inspection services to all parts of the world. The company also installs, operates and maintains various navigation, communications and airfield lighting systems in various locations.
